As attorneys continue to work remotely, the Hennepin County Law Library is adding databases that can be used outside of the law library itself.
For instance, Bromberg and Ribstein on Partnership is generally considered the definitive reference on general and limited partnership law. But at $3,900 to buy new, and costly updates multiple times per year, investing in the title is prohibitive for many attorneys.
Hennepin County Law Library has long carried the print version of this title, but you’ll be pleased to know that it is now available to our subscribers online and from the comfort of your office.
- Go to hclawlib.org and click on “Online Research.”
- Click on “Search Databases” from the dropdown menu.
- Click on “Search Legal Databases.”
- Click on “Search Online” and you’ll see the list of all databases provided by the law library.
The first database listed is “VitalLaw (was CHEETAH)” and you’ll see a list of many of the titles available to you, as well as step-by-step instructions for accessing the titles. You may create a password and make annotations right in the online book – the annotations will reappear for you the next time you access the title. Allow us to help you get your hands on some of the definitive works you may have decided to do without. Law librarians are available M-F 8-5 (612-348-2903 or law.library@hennepin.us) to help you find and retrieve information to help you succeed.
The Law Library will be closed Monday, January 17 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
