LAW LIBRARY SERVICES CHANGE MARCH 1. READ MORE...

Monday,

The trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin is set to begin in March. To ensure the safety of staff and residents, Hennepin County will be restricting access to the Government Center to court-related services and implementing additional security measures in the building on March 1, 2021.

Law library staff will be working from a temporary location beginning March 1 and will not have access to the Government Center or physical book collection until after the trial concludes in late April or early May.

Beginning Monday, March 1:

  • Curbside pickup will be suspended
  • Book drop will be unavailable (no late fees will accrue)
  • All due dates will be extended

UPDATE:  March 9

Law Library staff moved the most heavily used items in our collection to our temporary location.  Staff will have access to the print materials in this list.

Law library staff will continue to be available by phone (612-348-2903) and email (law.library@hennepin.us). We will use our extensive online collection and work with neighboring law libraries to provide you with the information you need.  Between now and the end of the business day on Friday, February 26, we encourage you to check out materials you might need over the next two months.

Thank you for your continued understanding as we navigate these unprecedented times.  Our goal is always to give you the highest level of legal research assistance and access to legal information.
